Nightlife in Valencia

Overview

The Spanish are famous for sleeping in the afternoon, eating late and partying until early in the morning, and the Valencians are no exception! The city offers a wide choice of night life for everyone, from low key chilled out venue to loud and late parties in the old town or on the beach. There’s definitely something for everyone in this trendy, cosmopolitan and fashionable city on the east coast of Spain, just be prepared to stay out late if you want to see the best of it!

Where to go, what to do

Heading to Valencia for a weekend break means you will be able to experience the best the city has to offer in terms of night life. Although many venues are open mid-week, the weekend is when the party really begins for many of the locals. There are great clubs, classy cocktail bars and chilled out jazz lounges from which to choose, so you will never be disappointed whatever your taste! The best thing is that the clubs and bars open late and stay open until the early hours of the morning meaning you’ll have plenty of time to sample local delicacies in the restaurants and cafes without being in a rush.

Those interested in festivals and music will love Valencia too – during the good weather the city hosts an outdoor cinema in the Turia Gardens which is a brilliant experience. Others may prefer to head to the old cobbled streets of Barrio del Carmen for a more bohemian feel with bars and clubs in abundance and a laid back relaxed atmosphere. For fashionable cocktail bars and top end restaurants many like to head to upscale Canovas Square. And those who want to get off the tourist trail and live it up with the locals should head to Juan Llorens – here you’ll find bars and clubs open all hours for some serious partying.

Many will also like the cool and relaxed beach bars down by the beach front. In the summer this is a perfect place to relax with a cocktail as the sun sets before the bar owners turn on the music and you can party all night with the waves lapping against the shore. Head to Las Arenas or Malvarossa for the best spots, including beach bar Vivir Sin Dormir which is open all day and serves cool cocktails at night.

Whatever your tastes, the city of Valencia has something for everyone.
