Beautiful Estepona

If you are looking for a destination that has tradition, beauty, adventure and history, then location villas and Estepona is the place for you!

Found on the Costa de Sol, on the West Coast of Spain, with 21 Km of coast line to explore, it is easy to understand why Walt Disney first thought of this area for Euro Disney – later moved to France.

With its 325-day a year sunshine, due to its micro climate caused by the Sierra Bermeja Mountains, this really is a year round destination.

There is not a lot of information about the history of this area, but the ever present charm of the area, the working Harbour (where there are daily auctions for fresh sea food right off the boat!) and the casual residents, lends one to believe that this charming city has been around for a very long time. Influence and descendents from the Phoenicians, Romans and Arabs are found in Estepona. Few ruins are still visible, but there are archaeological deposits from the Roman Epoch. Prominent monuments, such as the Church of the Virgin of Remedies and the Tower of the Clock are great places to see, and while you are out site seeing, why not stop in at the grand properties on display, such as that of the Marquess of Mondéjar.

If History and site seeing are not on your priority list, be sure to pack your bikini, hiking boots and camera! With a multitude of water sports, Tapas bars, day trips to a Safari Park, mountains to climb, golf courses abound  and things to eat and drink are everywhere, you will certainly find an activity for every member of the family! There is also Spains first official naturalist site – the nudist beach Costa Natura. Here no bikinis are required

Plan your trip around these dates to enjoy the festivals with the locals:

15 May – San Isidro Labrador (Agricultural and Religious Celebration)

23 June – Quema de los bigotes de San Juan (Traditional Night Celebration)

July – Feria y fiestas Mayores (Annual Town Festival)

16 July – Virgen del Carmen (Fisherman’s Religious Celebrations).

Being able to pack all of these exciting activities in to one hassle free holiday should be easy to do. Remember to look for all inclusive deals, and be sure to chat to fellow travelers or locals for more exciting activities.

Once you have decided to move on to the rest of Spain, catch a train from Malaga to Barcelona. You will be taken into the Spanish interior, before reaching the Mediterranean Sea.

While in Barcelona, be sure to check out Gaudi’s Art at the Parc Guell.

Accommodation in Barcelona is easy to find, the public transport is efficient and can get you pretty much anywhere you would like to be.
