Beautiful Alicante

Overview

The beautiful Alicante is situated on the Mediterranean Sea, and is popular with tourists from all over Europe who flock to the east of Spain for the wonderful beaches, location espagne piscine, pleasant weather and great food and nightlife. The area boasts a lot more to do than just beaches, and you’ll find a wealth of cultural and historical activities coupled with great scenery and activities for all the family.

Things to Do

Within the city itself there are plenty of pleasant spots. The marina offers a wonderful beach and a great boulevard along which locals and tourists alike can enjoy an evening stroll. The area boasts a number of open air restaurants and bars in which you can take an evening aperitif before dining late like the locals do.

Another interesting section of the city of Alicante is the old town or El Barro area, which offers some beautiful narrow cobbled lanes, quirky shops and cafes and the wonderful St Nicholas Cathedral in an area that has retained its old world charm.

The city itself is easily accessible from the UK and Ireland with bargain low cost flights from Jet 2, Easy Jet and Aer Lingus as well as Monarch and BMI Baby offering great deals from major hubs and smaller regional airports in Britain and Ireland. The airport also welcomes thousands of tourists annually who are continuing further up or down the coastline of the beautiful Spanish costa.

Twin city break

Many like to make the most of the great transport links and cheap flights by first stopping in Barcelona, the capital of the north east. A different vibe to Alicante exists here, and travellers like to couple a relaxed beach holiday in Alicante with a cosmopolitan shopping and culture trip to Barcelona. Here, you’ll be able to shop on the many boutiques in the city, visit the stunning architecture left behind by Gaudi, including the Park Guell and the Sagrada Familia, and frequent the great night life spots throughout the city. There are plenty of low cost hotels in a central area, and the transport links are good, allowing you to make the most of your stay before catching a cheap flight or train to Alicante.

The southern town of Alicante offers great options for all the family. Families will enjoy the beaches and parks catering to children, and couples will find plenty of romantic restaurants in which to enjoy each other’s company over some tapas and a glass of sangria.
